Waterfall gullies beside residential gardens
Horseshoe Falls is a recognised Hazelbrook-area landmark, described by Destination NSW as a waterfall within a natural amphitheatre. It illustrates the sheltered, damp conditions that can sit close to the village's residential landscape. The wider setting includes forest, gullies and garden edges rather than one single kind of snake habitat.
For homes, damp cover can be created by ordinary things: irrigation, dense plants beside a shed and materials stored on soil. An encounter there does not prove there is a nest or a wider infestation. The priority is to understand where the individual snake was last seen and keep that area quiet.

Red-bellied black snakes account for the largest group in the historical Hazelbrook data; tiger snakes and eastern brown snakes also appear. A snake goes behind the shed
Stop moving boxes, pots or bags of garden mix. A rushed clear-out can cause the snake to move again and erase the last reliable location. Keep pets away from the shed perimeter and call from a separate safe area.
Tell us whether the snake went behind the structure, through a doorway or underneath the floor. Describe adjoining cover and whether there is a fence on either side. Modern locating equipment is useful only where the structure and access allow it; it cannot guarantee a view through every surface.

If you have just seen a snake, postpone the tidy-up and keep the area quiet. Lifting a stack of pots or shifting bags can turn a known last-seen location into a much wider search.

Does one snake mean there is a nest beside the shed?
A single sighting does not establish a nest, breeding site or infestation. Tell the catcher what you actually observed, including whether you saw more than one animal. Avoid disturbing the area to investigate.
Can I use a hose to move it out of the garden?
Do not try to flush or direct it. Water can cause unpredictable movement and may drive it into another concealed space. Keep back and call for advice.
Do you guarantee you will find a hidden snake?
