Heath, woodland and creek country
The Heath and Bare Creek trails connect Belrose with Garigal National Park. NSW National Parks describes a rough, sandy descent into the valley, with Bare Creek trail following the east side of the creek and joining Cascades trail. The forested creek setting in the photograph contrasts with open track edges and nearby residential gardens.
For residents, the relevant question is how the garden connects to that setting. Dense boundary planting, timber decks and shaded equipment storage can hide the ground. A snake on a deck should be treated as an individual encounter to manage, rather than proof that the entire garden is unsafe.

Ask everyone to move back and keep children inside. A crowd trying to take photos can block the snake's retreat and make the situation harder to manage. Turn attention to giving it space and contacting the catcher.
